Body: Two-thirds flat silver tinsel and one-third scarlet seal’s fur or sub
Rib: Fine round silver tinsel or wire
Hackle: Black hen hackle
Wing: Well marked teal
Head: Black tying silk and clear varnish
Notes
A pattern that anglers either love or hate. Many anglers have never caught a fish on this fly, originally devised as a variation of a Teal and Red. One possible reason is that many Peter Ross’s tied today contain Silver Mallard in the wing as opposed to Teal which, with good markings is difficult to come by.
