My other half wants to spend the bank holiday weekend on the north Devon coast. We’re staying in Woolacombe and I couldn’t help but notice that the river Taw is nearby. I can’t get away for more than a few hours so can’t manage a proper session on the river itself but thought I might make some casts at the river mouth. Should I pursue sea trout or bass? Any tips from someone who knows it?

    Please help.

I didn’t find the right solution from the Internet.

The river has good sea trout and salmon runs so it may well be worth trying for those. Do not forget the opportunity to try for bass or Mullet either.

There are a couple of articles on the site you can use as reference
